Duchess of Langeais (2/22/08 limited): aka Ne Touchez Pas La Hache. Adaptation of a Balzac novel. Set in the 1820s. Costumes by Maira Ramedhan Levy. See photos at OutNow.

Married Life (3/7/08 limited): Pierce Brosan and Rachel McAdams in a 1940s-era murder drama. Costumes by Michael Dennison (Mona Lisa Smile). See photos at CinEmpire.

John Adams (3/16/08 US TV): HBO miniseries about the American "founding father," with Paul Giamatti as Adams and Laura Linney as Abigail. Costumes by Donna Zakowska (Original Sin). See photos at IMDB.

Sense and Sensibility (3/30 & 4/6/08 US TV):  Writer Andrew Davies (who adapted the 1995 BBC Pride & Prejudice) is adapting this for the BBC.  Costumes by Michele Clapton (BBC Casanova).  Check AustenBlog for news and pictures.

Lark Rise to Candleford (3/08 UK TV): BBC adaptation of a novel, about a small town girl and life in rural England. Set in the late 19th century (1890s?). Costumes by Phoebe de Gaye (lots of Miss Marple; Forsyte Saga). See the BBC website.

Cranford (4/4, 11, & 18/08 US TV): BBC adaptation of the Elizabeth Gaskell novel, starring Judi Dench. Costumes by Jenny Beavan (one of the Merchant-Ivory costumers; Amazing Grace, Gosford Park, Ever After, Sense and Sensibility [1995], Jefferson in Paris, Howards End, A Room With a View, many many more).

Leatherheads (4/4/08): George Clooney and John Krasinski in a football comedy set in the 1920s. Costumes by Louise Frogley (The Good German, Good Night and Good Luck). See pictures at MovieCenter.net.

A Room with a View (4/13/08 US TV): Elaine Cassidy stars in this ITV adaptation. Costumes by Frances Tempest (Bertie and Elizabeth, The Cazalets, A Respectable Trade).

My Boy Jack (4/20/08 US TV): Daniel Radcliffe as the son of Rudyard Kipling, post-WWI. Costumes by Lorna Marie Mugan (lots of things I've never heard of).

Kit Kittredge: An American Girl (6/20/08 limited; 7/2/08 wide): Abigail Breslin stars in an adaption of one of the American Girls (dolls) stories; set in the 1930s. Brideshead Revisited (7/25/08 limited): A new adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's novel, about a man who gets emotionally entangled with an aristocratic family in 1920s England. Emma Thompson and Michael Gambon co-star. Costumes by Eimer Ni Mhaoldomhnaigh (Becoming Jane).

The Young Victoria (9/3/08): Emily Blunt stars as the legendary queen, Rupert Friend is Albert. Costumes by Sandy Powell (The Aviator, Gangs of New York, Shakespeare in Love, The Wings of the Dove, Interview with the Vampire, Orlando). See pics at Costumer's Guide to Movie Costumes.

Little Dorrit (10/08 UK TV): Dickens novel; adapted by Andrew Davies, starring Matthew MacFadyen. See the BBC press release.

Revolutionary Road (12/19/08): Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio star in a drama about a young couple in 1950s Connecticut. See pics at WorstPreviews.

The Reader (12/12/08): Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes star in a film set around post-WWII war crimes trials. Costumes by Ann Roth (Evening, The Good Shepard, Cold Mountain, The Hours, The Talented Mr. Ripley, The English Patient, and lots lots more).

The Duchess (12/12/08 limited): Keira Knightley stars in a biopic about Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire (one of the leaders of fashion in late 18th century England), Ralph Fiennes plays the Duke, and Hayley Atwell is Bess. Angel (2008?):  About a writer and set in 1910.  Starring Romola Garai, Charlotte Rampling, Lucy Russell, and Sam Niell.  Costumes by Pascaline Chavanne (Swimming Pool, 8 Women).  See pics at RomolaFan.com.

Good (2008?):  About a literature professor in the 1930s who becomes an Auschwitz functionary.  Starring Viggo Mortensen, Romola Garai, Mark Strong, and Gemma Jones. Costumes by Caroline Harris (Iron Jawed Angels, A Knight's Tale, An Ideal Husband). See photos at IMDB.

Virgin Territory (2008?): (Previously titled Decameron: Angels & Virgins) Hayden Christensen & Mischa Barton (I'm cringing already) as young Florentines who tell stories during the plague. Nightwatching (2008?):  The story of Rembrandt's painting "The Night Watch," with Martin Freeman as Rembrandt, Emily Holmes and Jodhi May also star.  Costumes by Jagna Janicka and Marrit van der Burgt (both have done various things I've never heard of). See pics at OutNow.

Lost in Austen (2008):   ITV (UK) is commissioning a drama series about a woman who goes back in time to Regency England, switching places with Elizabeth Bennet. Costumes by Emma Rosenthal.

Mary Queen of Scots (2008): Scarlett Johansson stars as the ill-fated queen in this remake of the 1972 Vanessa Redgrave film.

Vivaldi (2008): Biopic of the famous composer. Joseph Fiennes in the title role, with Gerard Depardieu and Jacqueline Bisset. Costumes by Jenny Beavan (Ever After, Sense and Sensibility, Jefferson in Paris, Howards End, A Room With a View, and many more).

Angel Makers (2008): The women of a Yorkshire farming community during WWI turn murderous when their men return to find German POWs in their places. Not sure if this is comedy or drama. Helen Mirren and John Hurt star.

An Education (2008): A coming of age story about a teenage girl in 1960s London. Emma Thompson, Rosamund Pike, Peter Sarsgaard, Alfred Molina, and Olivia Williams star. Costumes by Odile Dicks-Mireaux (The Constant Gardener, The Lost Prince, Gormenghast).

Affinity (2008 UK TV): Another adaptation of a Sarah Waters novel by Andrew Davies; about a 19th century woman who visits an insane asylum.

Defiance (2009): Three Jewish brothers escape from Nazi-occupied Poland to become Resistance Fighters. Starring Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber. Costumes by Jenny Beavan (Ever After, Sense and Sensibility, Jefferson in Paris, Howards End, A Room With a View, and many more). See photos at FilmiCafe.

Middlemarch (2009): Andrew Davies is again adapting the George Eliot novel??!!

Ballet Shoes (12/26/07 UK TV): BBC adaption of the classic children's novel, starring Emilia Fox and Emma Watson. Costumes by Sheena Napier (Enchanted April, lots of Poirot and Miss Marple).

Fanny Hill (10/22/07 UK TV): BBC TV miniseries based on the 18th century novel about a girl who falls into prostitution; script by Andrew Davies (1995 Pride & Prejudice). More info at the BBC.

Gunpowder, Treason and Plot: Robert Carlyle as King James I, Catherine McCormack as Elizabeth I in a story about James I and Mary, Queen of Scots. Costumes by Nic Ede (Bright Young Things, Wilde). See photos at TudorPlace.

Miss Marie Lloyd - Queen of the Music Hall: BBC drama detailing the life of the famous music hall performer. Costumes by Lucinda Wright (Ray Winstone Henry VIII).

Shadow in the North: Another Sally Lockhart mystery starring Billie Piper; see my review of Ruby in the Smoke. Costumes by James Keast (Aristocrats, The House of Eliott).

Things I missed, or just haven't gotten around to watching, but really do plan to see (here as a reminder to myself!):

Dracula:  A BBC adaptation of Bram Stoker's tale; Sophia Myles plays Lucy (who appears to be a merging of the characters of Lucy and Mina).  Costumes by Amy Roberts (The Virgin Queen, Cold Comfort Farm). See the BBC site.

The Fountain: Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz, directed by Darren Aronofsky. Spans 1,000 years, about the search for the fountain of youth. Costumes by Renee April (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind). See pics at IMDB.

The Good German: Set in post-war Berlin, with George Clooney and Cate Blanchett. Costumes by Louise Frogley (Good Night and Good Luck). See pics at CinEmpire.

Lilies: Set in 1920s Liverpool about three young girls "on the brink of womanhood."  See the BBC press release. Costumes by Ralph Holes (Bride & Prejudice, Bend It Like Beckham).

Love in the Time of Cholera (11/16/07 limited): Based on the novel by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, starring Javier Bardem in a story about two lovers waiting to be reunited. Set in 1880-1930 in Colombia. Costumes by Marit Allen (Ride With the Devil, Snow White: A Tale of Terror). See pics at OutNow.

Moliere:  a French production that puts Moliere into his own plots.  Costumes look pretty!  See pics at IGN.

Perfume:  Based on a book that I've heard highly recommended, set in the very early 18th century.  Costumes by Pierre Yves-Gayraud (The Bourne Identity).  See pics at OutNow.

Silk (9/14/07 limited):  Set in the 19th c., about a French silk merchant who travels to Japan. Starring Keira Knightley and Alfred Molina. Costumes by Kazuko Kurosawa (many Japanese films) and Carlo Poggioli (Brothers Grimm, Van Helsing, Cold Mountain, Mists of Avalon).  See pics at Walking in Daydreams and Costumer's Guide to Movie Costumes.

The Tudors: Jonathan Rhys Myers as Henry VIII and Sam Neill as Cardinal Wolsey.  Being made for Showtime.  The costumes look more inspired than reproduction.  See photos at the Costumers Guide to Movie Costumes.
