(Nathan) Van Cleave (he used "Van" as his first name) (my paternal grandfather, second from left) was a composer and orchestrator; he led his own band playing live and doing radio shows in the 1930s and 1940s in New York City, then moved to Los Angeles where he composed and orchestrated for films and television

Doris (my paternal grandmother) was a showgirl in many Broadway productions during the 1930s in New York City. She was the child of vaudeville actors.
